Happily so &#8211; what better way to chew time on long flights?<\/p>\n<p>Enter the Estonian Security Zealot.<\/p>\n<p>Flying back from Tallinn, the rules were &#8220;interpreted&#8221; by their security folks and they decided that &#8220;YOUR NEEDLES SHALL NOT PASS!&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They are metal and sharp.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They&#8217;re pointy not sharp. I could do more damage with in-flight cutlery than with a bunch of 3 and 4mm needles.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Intransigence despite my appeals to logic and &#8220;the rules&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>I swearily gave up and punched the frowny face feedback button with all my might (childish, but satisfying).<\/p>\n<p>So yeah. If you&#8217;re flying back from Estonia, take only plastic or wood needles in your carry-on.<\/p>\n<p>(Written from the seat of a flight about to take off from Paris CDG.
